By: Frank Lendo Those magnates of Manhattan real estate have done it again. A single co-cop in Manhattan has just been confirmed to have sold for $48 million. This beats the previous record, set by Scott and Donya Bommer in January of this year. That sales was for $46 million, and included two co-ops. The purchaser of this latest Manhattan marvel is Jonathan Tisch, chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels. The massive, 14-room co-op looks out over Central Park from the 11th floor of 2 East 67th Street. The building, designed by Rosario Candela, dates to the 1920s. It has been confirmed, according to the NY Times, that the apartment was purchased in Mid-July from Angelika Ronson. Ronson, the widow of former real-estate developer Howard Ronson, sold the four-bedroom, six and a half bath residence after having removed it from the market last year. The property was originally listed for $40 million in June of 2007. Mrs. Ronson placed her co-op on the market shortly after the death of her husband, only to take it off the market after receiving several offers for the 11th floor co-op. In a related story, Mrs. Ronson bought a new co-op from S. Bartley Osborn for the full asking price of $7.75 million. Mrs. Ronson's new home is far more modest than her old one, having only 3 bedrooms. Mrs. Ronson now occupies the fourth and fifth floors of 4 East 72nd Street.
