By: Tatiana Valerie He's been called everything from “The Five Million Dollar Doorman” to “Richie Rich Randazzo”, but this doorman who won a $5 million lottery prize wanted to keep it real, so he kept his day job. That is, until he got fired. There hasn't been any official information released as to why the man was fired from his job at a posh Park Avenue apartment building, and the stories run wild. Some believe that the publicity kept him from doing his job. Regardless of the reasoning, Randazzo's employer, Brown Harris Stevens, the management company responsible for the Park Avenue building has given him the axe. They “showed him the door” so to speak. The case isn't over yet, however. Since Mr. Randazzo was a member of a union, he has filed a grievance before the union board for wrongful termination. The case has yet to be heard by the committee responsible for grievance actions, but as a member of the union, Mr. Randazzo says that he expects to be defended vigorously. Many people wonder, though, why Mr. Randazzo would bother to fight for a job that pays $40,000 a year, since his lottery winnings guarantee him $65,000 quarterly. Mr. Randazzo says only that he “...liked his job,” and wanted to keep things the way they were. Until a statement is released stating the reason for Mr. Randazzo's termination, readers will be kept in suspense, since Mr. Randazzo himself certainly isn't talking.
