By: Bob Nicholson According to listings on The Corcoran Group's webpage, Natalie Portman has place her West Village loft on the market. The asking price for the Queen's abode is $6.55 million. Ms. Portman is listing her two-bedroom loft at 165 Charles Street, a Richard Meier-designed building for an “undisclosed reason”, though many insiders believe that the movie star will be moving west to live with her boyfriend. The building has drawn interest from architecture-buffs and perverts alike for its mostly see-through exterior. There is very little in the way of privacy built into the building, and if you don't like getting your picture taken, you should probably be ready to hang some curtains. The two-bedroom condo, which boasts over 2,500 square feet of living space, floor-to-ceiling windows, and 3 bathrooms, has park views as well as views of the Hudson. Portman's unit has five rooms total, and views in 3 directions, a luxury in itself for most NY apartment hounds. Portman purchased the unit in mid-2005, using her property trust, Sea Cliff Real Property Trust, to do so. The purchase price for the condo was between $5.7 and $5.9 million. There is also talk that the favorite condo of Ms. Portman herself is actually rentable. The 2,500 square-foot condo can be rented for a reported $30,000 monthly. While outside the price range of many New Yorkers, 30k a month is still less than the reported $200,000 per month that Donald Trump is charging for his latest rental.
